List Installed iOS Apps On Your Device Using Spotlight

With the advent of iOS 7 and the multiple pages inside a folder functionality, it can get quite easy for you to do a bit of digging to find an app you are looking for. Sure, you can launch apps from Siri or do a Spotlight search for them, but what if you wanted to clean house a bit?

List Installed iOS Apps

It would be so much nicer if you could list installed iOS Apps in one place on your iOS device. Then you could get a nice overview of which apps you could remove and which you could leave as is. Luckily for us, this is easy to do with Spotlight. To toggle Spotlight, you can simply swipe down from the middle of the home screen to display the search field. Inside that field, type a period.

Spotlight will now list installed iOS Apps and the folder they are located in, in one place. From this list, you can now identify which applications you would like to delete or move. Lastly, you might have to modify your Spotlight settings to list the apps at the top of the results. To do this, go to Settings > General > Spotlight Search and move the Applications category to the top.

As you can see, this quick and easy method is a great tip for the serious iOS power user. I hope you enjoyed this tip! For more tips and advice, sign up for The Week In Geek newsletter and stay in the know.
