Move files quickly with Ultracopier download
For many who have used Linux distribution will tell you that all the processes are carried out are done so at breakneck speed. However, is it possible to make them faster than they already are? Today we introduce Ultracopier, an application that allows you to accelerate and manage the movement of your files with more ease.
What is Ultracopier and how does it work?
Ultracopier is a multi-platform open source application, with a clean and user-friendly interface. Developed to facilitate the management your file’s movements, it allows you to easily manipulate several files at once. For example from the PC to a USB flash drive or an external HDD, Ultracopier can make transfers happen with ease. For this purpose, it sports all the options of a normal files copy/move manager, including the ability to pause or stop the copy process, or to limit the transfer rate, the management of duplicate files, and the Errors and Logs journal. Here is a picture illustrating all of these features:
How to install Ultracopier?
Ultracopier is no longer available in the repositories for Ubuntu 12.04, so to install it on Ubuntu 12.10 and 13.04 you must go through adding a PPA. It is also possible to obtain Ultracopier in other distributions such as ElementaryOS, Linux Mint or Kubuntu, Lubuntu, JoliOS, since all of them are based on Ubuntu. However, you should verify if your distribution version is based on Ubuntu 12.10 and 13.04. So to install, open the Shell, and type (note that you can also copy & paste) this:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:wynter/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install ultracopier
The Ultracopier downlaod is also available for Arch Linux via AUR, it can be used in Windows (also available in portable version) and Mac OS X by downloading the installation files from the official website of the project. Finally note that eight languages are available.
